Berend was born July 25, 1884 to Roelf Wieringa and Bouwina Heins in Groningen, Holland.

Berend and Jantje Kamphius married November 15, 1908.

Berend and Jantje had three children Roelf, Johanna and Bouwina.

Roelf Andreas b. 1909, Johanna Catharina was born December 26, 1910 and Bouwina was born July 2, 1915.

Roelf was named after Berend's father and Johanna Catharina (Jo) was named after Jantje's mother while
Bouwina (Wieny) was named for Berend's mother.

Berend worked as a hotel porter for many years.

Berend also worked at the hotel Doelen in Groningen.

Berend died July 5, 1936 in Groningen.

Sadly this was a little over a year after my father (his namesake) was born so my dad had no memories of him.
